UK stock market goes into free fall
The Cuba News.Net Friday 5th September, 2008
The British stock market has registered its worst week of falls in six years.
The FT-100 index of leading shares fell 121 points to end the week at 5,240 points.
The last time the market recorded such a big fall in a single week was in July 2002.
The index is down 7 per cent from this time last week after the Chancellor Alistair Darling's comments that the economy was facing its toughest conditions in 60 years.
