HAVANA, 9th June, 2026 (WAM) -- A 6.1-magnitude earthquake struck western Cuba on Monday, causing buildings to shake in the capital, Havana, and several nearby areas, with no immediate reports of casualties or material damage.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said the earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 10 kilometres in waters west of Havana.
