Submarine cables are the information gateways of the modern world and Cuba will soon be linked to Venezuela and Jamaica by one, which will increase the efficiency of information flows between the countries by over 3000 times.
Work on an underwater cable that will link Cuba, Venezuela and Jamaica is underway with the survey ship RV Ridley Thomas mapping the ocean floor between the countries to determine the exact path of the cable. Read more
